ITCT "Fossati Da Passano" is based in La Spezia in the south of Liguria, on the border with Tuscany, in the north west of Italy. La Spezia economy has been based on the city Military Arsenal since the second half of the 1800. The Naval Base has transformed the town from a fishing village into a real town, seat of important industries in several sectors. ITCT "Fossati Da Passano" is well connected with the social cultural setting of the town and its province thanks to a long process of cooperation in many different sectors such as tourism, economics, Information Technology, design and sport. There are 130 teachers and 933 students belonging to the middle/ working class coming from the town centre and the surroundings. We have recently had an increase in the number of students coming from different cultural and linguistic areas, such as Eastern Europe, South America and North Africa, which represents a challenge for social integration. Our school has always paid special attention to minorities, disabled people and students with special needs, encouraging their partecipation to various activities and projects at a local, national and international level. All our courses last 5 years and they deal with tourism, economics, languages, Information Technology and Graphic Design. The teaching mission is to develop good skills in our students through the use of modern methodologies and very updated labs. CLIL, ECDL, language certifications (PET, FCE, DELF), courses for foreigners and disabled, cooperation with enterprises and work experience in Italy and abroad are just examples of the activities performed. -We are greatly motivated to join the project as we are willing to implement and disseminate previous project experiences, to exchange good practices with new partners and work hard together to reach a better understanding of the European dimension, to implement the cultural and linguistic skills of our students, of their families, of teachers and of people working at school with positive outcomes. We are ready to prepare teaching materials focused on local history, sustainable environment, inclusive behaviour to share and also to discuss at different local and international levels. We do believe in working together to sustain young people to create a better world to live in. -We do believe that European projects belong to and involve all the employees, teachers and students at school. The people in charge of the project are used to working in a team and, in case someone should leave, there will be someone well informed about and ready to continue the experience. Maria Grazia Zignego (English teacher) and Alessia Zanello (science teacher) are ready to work actively in the project in case the reference teacher should leave.
