We are a secondary education institution attended by the students with highest academic achievements in the Koprivnica - Križevci county. The school has 699 students, 78 teachers and staff. It is located in the center of the county and attracts excellent students from the region thanks to its quality classes, a qualified team of teachers and numerous projects and activities. Students have the opportunity to choose from three different options: general grammar school, language grammar school and science-mathematics grammar school. They also attend extra-curricular activities and join different school clubs. We have modern technology which motivates students but also presents the challenge for teachers to convey learning materials and incite students' curiosity in an innovative and creative way. Therefore it is necessary to ensure the teachers' continual professional development and the update of knowledge in their respective fields of work, contemporary methodology and ICT skills. The school cooperate with educational institutions in the Koprivnica - Križevci county and with other institutions ( Goethe-Institut, French Embassy, Croatian - American Society, Ruđer Bošković Institute, CERN, Croatian National Centre for External Evaluation of Education, museums, theatres, national teachers' associations). Students attending our school take part in various competitions on local and national levels, achieving high results. Our school strives to ensure additional progress for as many students as possible by encouraging teachers' professional development and by keeping track with the latest teaching methods. Since the school has been a part of european projects Comenius and Erasmus+, we would like to be able to continue to participate in similar projects for both students and teachers in order to reinforce the student-student / student-teacher cooperation as well as the cooperation with similar schools on national and international level. As one of the most successful educational institutions in Croatia, with the experience in the implementation of various types of projects, we always worked hard to encourage the best possible environment for the development of its students' and teachers' knowledge and skills, as well as for the promotion of European values. The students and teachers have so far taken part in a few european projects as part of the school's European Development Plan. As teachers of this school, we strongly believe that knowing one's past and being familiar with the history and traditions of the place where we live, but also that of other countries and their inhabitants, ensures a better present and future of each individual. We are also convinced that working with other European schools will provide our students and teachers with an invaluable experience of developing mobility skills, tolerance, and opening new opportunities for strengthening connections and positive attitudes towards the cooperation with the inhabitants of the EU.
