Crafts in the history
Before the industrialization era, crafts were an important industry especially in smaller communities. Although learning about guilds is a part of history teaching, this was an opportunity for students to become more familiar with the crafts that were once an important part of city life, and some of them are still present today. For example blacksmiths, shoemakers, carpenters… Students could firsthand see what the differences are in doing these jobs today and in the past and what problems artisans are dealing with in modern times.
